Grant money is back on the table in Michigan

Michigan Edition

Thursday, August 20th

A lot of funding opportunities re-opening this week here in Michigan. Two thumbs up from me on the investments being made in Michigan this week. More on all of that in The Front Table below.

Michigan renews funding for international expansion grants

If you're looking to potentially expand internationally, this might be a great way to get started. Michigan renewed funding for this program to help fund small businesses to export goods outside the US.

This feels like a smart investment to help bring money into the state rather than just having it circulate around the state.

Experiential retail grants are back in Grand Rapids

If you're doing business in downtown Grand Rapids or interested in doing so, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc (DGRI), has opened up their experiential retail grants. Great for testing new events to bring in new business or new pop ups. Even if you don't think it's a perfect fit, it's worth a shot to apply. DGRI is a great supporter of everything happening in downtown Grand Rapids.

We're getting some new trains

As someone who just returned from the East Coast a year ago, trains are so convenient. Luckily for Michigan, Amtrak received funding to help add and update infrastructure for trains from Detroit to Chicago and from Grand Rapids to Chicago.

This could help with connecting to customers across not only Michigan but the region from Chicago to Toronto in the long term. More connectivity seems to always build better relationships and business networks.

Share some popsicles this weekend

From what I've heard from many this week, it's been a stressful week with school starting and just a lot of not so much fun news. This post on LinkedIn made me smile and it might be an idea to consider later on.

U.S. Edition Tuesday, August 4th I don't know about you, but things are a feeling a little slower this week and I'm perfectly okay with that. As a friend of mine told me last week though, these slower times are great times to re-connect with your network that might lead to new business or partnerships later in Q4. Go message someone you want to catch up with this month. Brought to you by Superhuman I send and receive a lot of emails. Gmail and Outlook just don't cut it for me. That's where...
